Rose Bengal Leading Rider Awards



The Rose Bengal Rider Awards were introduced in 2009 in memory of Rose Bengal, a successful Pony Racing pony that sadly died following an accident in the field.

Riders in the 138cm & Under and 148cm & Under 2010 Charles Owen Pony Races will accumulate points for their winning and placed rides with the highest placed in each category winning. The winners will be announced at the 2010 Charles Owen Pony Racing Finals at Cheltenham Racecourse on Saturday 16th October and receive the following prizes;

A perpetual trophy and winning jacket, two days private tuition at the British Racing School or Northern Racing College, personalised racing breeches, made to measure racing boots, racing saddle, 12 month membership to the Amateur Jockeys Association, VIP day at Cheltenham Racecourse with Channel 4 Racing including private tuition on the mechanical horse from top Jump jockeys and media training.

Rose Bengal Rider Scholarships

The Rose Bengal Rider Scholarships will reward two Riders (one in each race category) that have consistently shown hard work, dedication, commitment and improvement throughout the 2010 Charles Owen Pony Racing Series. The PRA Steward will nominate an individual from each race and The PRA Board will decide the overall winners at the end of the Series. The winners will be announced at the 2010 Charles Owen Pony Racing Finals at Cheltenham Racecourse on Saturday 16th October and receive the following prizes;

A perpetual trophy and winning jacket, one weeks tuition at the British Racing School or Northern racing College's Pony Racing Camp, personalised racing breeches, made to measure racing boots, racing saddle, 12 month membership to the Amateur Jockeys Association, VIP day at Cheltenham Racecourse with Channel 4 Racing including private tuition on the mechanical horse from top Jump jockeys and media training.  

The 2009 Rose Bengal Scholarship winners were Jessica Benfield (138cm & Under) and Rachel Leyshon (148cm & Under)
